FAQ

Is beekeeping safe?
Since bees only sting in self-defense and it results in their death, they avoid it unless absolutely necessary. We prioritise safety and enjoyment, advising you and your guests to refrain from swatting at bees, maintain a respectful distance, and avoid operating loud machinery like lawnmowers near the hive to prevent startling them.

How much space do I need?
Very little! A backyard hive ideally needs a minimum of 5 feet of clear space in front of its entrance, serving as a "runway" for bees to freely enter and exit. Behind the hive, a space of about 3 to 5 feet is recommended for beekeepers to work with ease.

What if I don't have a big garden?
Don't fret! Honey bees can forage up to 3 miles from their hive. Interestingly, many hosts develop a passion for gardening after joining our service. If you're keen on planting more bee-friendly plants, we're here to provide you with all the resources you need.
